Job Overview
Solo practitioner is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join a thriving criminal defense trial practice. As an Associate Attorney, he or she will be representing clients charged with a wide range of criminal offenses, including felonies and misdemeanors, and in addition to representing retained, private clients, must also be willing to serve as court-appointed counsel in cases of indigent defendants.
Experience:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
Admission to the Virginia State Bar is mandatory; active licensing is preferred.
Must be certified, or willing to become certified, to serve as court-appointed counsel for indigent defendants through the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission (VIDC).
Proven experience in criminal cases and prior jury trial experience is a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools.
Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents.
