Assistant City Attorney for City of Charlottesville

The City of Charlottesville, Virginia seeks an Assistant City Attorney to represent the Charlottesville Department of Social Services and other City departments as assigned. Primary responsibilities will include representation of the City in state court proceedings and providing advice in procurement and contract matters. The Position will likely involve representation of other City agencies as assigned. Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited law school, with admission to the Virginia State Bar. Past juvenile court experience and local government experience are desirable. The Charlottesville City Attorney’s Office affords the opportunity for significant, independent, professional development on challenging issues under the general supervision of the City Attorney. The successful applicant must demonstrate a broad range of experience and knowledge of Virginia law.
